Your license exists but has no active sponsorship, the standard between-employers status. It flips back once a new sponsorship is accepted.

  • Confirm your new employer submitted the sponsorship request.
  • Clear any attestations waiting in your NMLS account.

Something required is missing, most often CE credits or a fee. During renewal season, missing CE is the usual suspect.

The license lapsed, usually a missed December 31 renewal. Most states allow reinstatement only through the last day of February.
